                                 LEARN HOW TO UNICYCLE

Unicycling is not nearly as easy as I type it out to be
Make sure you have a unicycle and something to hold on to (I learned by holding onto a Toyota Carolla.)

Unless you are (very very very x 10,000) lucky you will not be able to fully unicycle on your first day of trying.  You will fall off.  You will spend quite a bit of time (as in days or weeks or if you really suck many months or years) attempting to ride a unicycle.

First stand behind your unicycle and step with your dominant foot on to its proper pedal.  Put all of your weight on that foot and then grab onto whatever can help hold you up.  (A friend or two works the best.)  Then sit down you move along the surface or have your friend walk with you.

!!!!All males out there that are planning on unicycling, do NOT!!, I repeat do NOT! sit on your testicles!!! No!! Unless you don't want kids! read below for explaination of how not to sit on your testicles!!

THE "SCOOP" TM.

Men: the method of not sitting on your testicles is what I call a "Scoop" TM.  A scoop is where you grab your "package" now squeeze.  Hahahaha! no please don't.  Seriously now, grab them and GENTLY lift it upwards, not out, upwards, GENTLY!  This gets put into practicality when you are about to ride a unicycle.  Follow all of the directions explained to mounting a unicycle, except when you are about to sit down make sure to "scoop" yourself then sit down.     If you get good enough you can scoop yourself with your seat.  This will help for two reasons: one because if you do the completely manuel scoop then your hand/hands will probably smell like your anus (TIP: DO NOT SMELL YOUR HAND AFTER PERFORMING A MANUEL "SCOOP" TM.  BECAUSE YOU DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO WASH YOUR HAND/HANDS AFTER EVERY "SCOOP" TM.)  The second reason is because if you just perfomed a trick you might not want to get off your unicycle, "scoop" TM. yourself while getting back on and go again.  NO!!! you want to be able to "scoop" TM. yourself with your seat, so when you just do a trick, you can just resume riding.  (keep in mind everyone that the tricks and riding while "scooping" TM. will come at a more advanced level of uniclycing.  REMEMBER MEN, YOU ARE NOT RIDING ON YOUR TESTICLES, YOU ARE RIDING BEHIND THEM!!

now back to unicycle riding business.

!!!YOU WILL FALL OFF!!!

Falling off of the unicycle is all part of learning how to ride one.

What you want to do is to be able to fall and land on your feet every time.
Consider the unicycle falling out from under you.

Now that you know how to get on a unicycle here are the tools to knowing how to ride a unicycle.

First of all, make sure you put all of your weight on the center of the seat, try to lean foreward slightly to get foreward momentum and pedal! Trusting your feet and legs to pedal make it happen.  But, first don't pedal too fast just fast enough to stay on the unicycle andgo foreward.  Hold on to whatever is near, as explained above.

Once you can move along at an ok level( you don't have to be able to completely ride it on your own at this point) you should work on turning.
In my oppinion learning to turn is the way you learn to ride straight on a unicycle.  When you are able to ride a unicycle without holding onto something (or clentching onto something with your life as some may experience) you will have to make small adjustments in direction to keep your balance to stay on the unicycle, hence the reason you need to turn to go straight.
The way to achieve the ability to turn is by holding onto something as you turn.  !!WOA!! And we are geniuses?  I learn to turn by holding onto my Toyota Carolla and following it around and around until I fell off my uni.

One thing I might have forgotten earlier is that you should be using your hands and arms to help keep your balance.  If you put all of your weight on the seat  you should hold on the surface that is helping you balance and using your other arm (which most likely will be flying around) also helping you keep your balance.
